Horsmonden dry white
Made from a blend of five grape varieties grown in our original vineyard plot at
Horsmonden, Kent. This wine has been made every year since 1993 and has
won many accolades since then. The wine has been likened to a sauvignon
blanc style and often mistaken for a NZ wine but with a mineral underlying
structure - soft, aromatic and fruit driven. Perfect for a summer afternoon or for
drinking with white meats, salads and even quite spicy food.
The 2015 will develop over the next year or two but is delicious in its youth
now. Definitely serve chilled.
Will Davenport’s small organic estate makes some of England’s finest
still wine. The 2013 is a blinder – its pungent nose of lemon and nettles is
not only quintessentially English, but also makes you want to dive in for a
sip. A glass of glorious, spirit-lifting refreshment.
